Dolly Parton is risking her life by putting her adoring fans ahead of her own health, friends fear. The legendary star just turned 70, and insiders fear that her jam-packed schedule will put her in an early grave! Life on the road has taken an obvious toll on the star, whispered a pal — especially since the frail country diva weighs a skeletal 89 pounds! As reported earlier by The National ENQUIRER, Dolly’s associates were worried when Dolly began her latest series of show — in the aftermath of the death of her longtime secret love Merle Haggard. She’s even collapsed from exhaustion during a global tour! “Dolly says she’s on a mission to play for everyone who wants to hear her,” reported the source. “But for some of us, it seems like a suicide mission!”

Behind her larger-than-life personality and bubbly demeanor is a woman wracked by heartbreak, health scares and deep depression. In 2013, Dolly underwent a five-hour procedure to control an acid-reflux ailment that doctors said could turn into esophageal cancer. Later that year, she was forced to recuperate after an auto accident. In 1982, Dolly was hemorrhaging before a performance in Indiana. After her set, she was rushed to a hospital where doctors performed an emergency hysterectomy.

Her inability to have a baby spun her into a suicidal depression, said insiders. “It was an awful time for me when I realized there would be no babies,” Dolly admitted. “Every day, I thought, ‘I wish I had the nerve to kill myself!’”

Dolly suffered from nightmarish depression for two years until she started filming the comedy “Rhinestone” with co-star
Sylvester Stallone — who she credits for helping roust her from her crippling funk. “He had a great energy that was really healing,” she said of Sly.

Now, what worries friends the most is Dolly's non-stop performance schedule — as the country diva (seen here with
Katy Perry) pushes herself week after week for the fans she loves. “She’s so exhausted after the shows," spilled a pal, "she just falls into bed and is out of it until the next morning!"

“I love to flirt, and I’ve never met a man I didn’t like,” joked Dolly. “Men are my weakness." But Dolly also admits she’s no stranger to heartbreak: “People are always saying to me I’m happy all the time, but nobody is happy all the time. Every once in a while I just feel, you know, sad-hearted and melancholy.”

As for what the future holds, Dolly keeps insisting that she has no plans for retirement — and insists that, as long as she has an audience, she’s going to sing her heart out ! “She’s going to get up on stage until the day she dies,” lamented an insider.
