David Bowie: Lock Of Legend’s Hair Sells For Big Bucks

David Bowie is only becoming more rich and famous in death — with a "small lock" of the late rocker's hair auctioned off for $18,750!

The very intimate item ended up being a smart investment by Wendy Farrier, who held on to the bit of Bowie after he donated the snip to Madame Tussauds in London.

Wendy (pictured in the auction house photo) was working as a wig maker at the famous tourist attraction.  She tied David's lock together with blue string — and kept it in a framed picture of herself working with the rock icon.

Wendy's sharing the wealth, too. A portion of her windfall is going to the Soi Dog Foundation rescue charity. It's the latest weird twist in the wake of David's death from liver cancer on January 10, 2016, at the age of 69 — with The National ENQUIRER revealing the kinky star's secret fight to survive his AIDS crisis!
