Christina Aguilera has called off her wedding to Matthew Rutler and ditched her engagement ring!

That’s the claim by pals who said the singer’s become a sad loner and refuses to wear the diamond ring with which fiancé Matthew proposed to her! The “Genie in a Bottle” blonde made a public appearance at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix on April 29 — sans Matthew and the diamond sparkler!

Christina has put on a brave front, insiders told The National ENQUIRER, but something is definitely up! “She seems sad,” insisted the source. “At the Grand Prix she was smiling for the cameras and seemed to be having fun, but she was definitely a little downcast. It seemed like fake joy.”

In addition, the source spotted the mother of two — Summer, with Rutler, and Max, with ex-husband Jordan Bratman — being comforted by a friend as she jetted out of the Los Angeles airport, again without her ring, just days before the event!

“Christina is normally so full of life and full of chat about Matthew, but in the last few weeks she’s gone quiet on him, and now the ring is off, too!” whispered our mole. Added another insider: “We think the wedding’s off!” The two have barely been in each other’s company in recent weeks.

“When she does have time off, she jets to things like the Grand Prix instead of spending time with him,” said the source. “That has to sting. Perhaps he voiced his concerns and that annoyed her — so the ring came off!”
