Knight — ruling for Kern County, where Manson died in Corcoran State Prison — looked over the cast of characters fighting for the legendary creep's corpse and ruled that Freeman was “the surviving competent adult next-of-kin of the decedent.” That was bad news for a crew of Manson's admirers, including "son" Matthew Roberts (pictured) who insists that Manson was unfairly imprisoned!

Jailhouse pen pal Michael Channels claimed to have had Manson’s will, which left everything to him. He says that he visited Manson in 2002 after they’d been writing to each other, and the fiend later sent him the documents. Manson's former fiancée Afton “Star” Burton, meanwhile, was out of the running for any claims to the maniac's estate — after The National ENQUIRER caught her spending time away from prison with Manson pal “Gray Wolf,” aka Craig Carlisle Hammond. “They appeared very close,” an onlooker said in 2015. That reportedly includes many more lost offspring after the cult leader's years of group sex with hippies in the so-called "Manson Family!"
