René Angélil, who had also spent decades as her manager before dying from throat cancer at the age of 73. Celine was overwhelmed as her son eldest son René-Charles, 15, came on stage unexpectedly to present her with the award.

"I'm so sorry," Céline, 48, said to the crowd. "I'm sorry for crying. I want to be so strong for my family and kids." She then turned to René-Charles, adding: "I don't want to cry in front of you."
