Bristol Palin Gets Big Bucks Child Support — While Changing Daughter’s Name

He declared victory in February after being rewarded joint custody of his child with Bristol Palin — but now Levi Johnston has won the right to pay $61,915.20 in back child support! The National ENQUIRER has learned that a judge in Alaska ordered Bristol's ex-fiancé to shell out the money for their 7-year-old son Tripp.

The news couldn't have been too big of a shock to Levi, though. The aspiring reality-show celebrity — who knocked up the daughter of Sarah Palin just as the Alaskan governor became John McCain's Vice-Presidential candidate — conceded when he first won joint custody of Tripp that he did "owe some back child support."

The Alaskan dad also insisted that he had already paid out $50,000 in child support since Tripp's birth in 2008. "I have worked hard to meet my obligations as a father," Levi said. But while he's having to pay up, Bristol's changing her other child's name to honor her other baby daddy — decorated Marine hero Dakota Meyer! 

Dakota filed a May 5 petition to legally change the 4-month-old’s moniker to Sailor Grace Palin Meyer. The move — which followed months of court spats between the embittered exes — had Palin-watchers wondering if a new war would erupt. But Bristol, 25, who has recently been upbeat about “co-parenting,” surprised everyone by submitting papers agreeing to the name change!

“These babies are my world,” said Bristol, whose marriage to Dakota was abruptly called off over a marriage he reportedly kept hidden. “I have never, and will never, keep them from having a positive relationship with their fathers.”
