Former “Cosby Show” star Geoffrey Owens was working behind a cash register at Trader Joe’s, but now he’s back in the spotlight after The National ENQUIRER revealed the actor’s secret struggles! Despite regular stints on the stage and screen since his old sitcom went off the air, Geoffrey — who played Sondra Huxtable’s husband Elvin — had fallen on hard times. Insiders had already noted that any residuals Geoffrey might have been earning from his hit sitcom had disappeared after Bill Cosby’s sordid sex scandals. Geoffrey’s former costar Malcolm-Jamal Warner even previously complained that reruns of “The Cosby Show” had gone off the air after the disgraced comic was accused of multiple sexual assaults — saying Cosby’s legal problems were “literally taking money out of my pocket.” But now Geoffrey’s back in demand after going public about the hard life of a working actor!

Geoffrey's mother Ethel had also boasted to The ENQUIRER that customers “come up and say they remember him from their childhoods.”

I have so much respect for people who hustle between gigs." Geoffrey, meanwhile, is making it clear that he has no interest in charity. "No one should feel sorry for me," he said. "I've had a great life, and I've had a great career!"
