Virginia Roberts — who went to court under her married name of Virginia Giuffre — had filed a defamation lawsuit against Epstein's former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell. In a bombshell National ENQUIRER exclusive, Virginia had spoken out about her time as a "sex slave" to billionaire financier Epstein. She had also claimed to have seen Bill Clinton in 2002 at Epstein’s private “orgy island” in the US Virgin Islands, where Virginia claimed group sex was a “regular occurrence.”

Maxwell had made statements that referred to Virginia’s tales about working with Epstein as “obvious lies.” That included Virginia's shocking claims that she had slept with Prince Andrew while she was underage and being kept as part of Epstein's sex stable. Maxwell publicly denied Virginia's claims that Epstein's girlfriend had originally recruited her to join the women kept on the island.

In response, Virginia filed the lawsuit that's now been settled — with Virginia only saying that she was “pleased” with the decision not to continue the lawsuit in Manhattan federal court. The trial had been scheduled to start on May 25, with Virginia's lawyers saying they were planning to call Epstein to testify under oath.
