Angelina Jolie remains shockingly thin — and terrified friends fear that the troubled actress can only survive by having liquid food suctioned through a tube snaked into her nose! In a shocking turn of events, The National ENQUIRER has learned that the emaciated actress is at risk of being fed through extreme measures after her weight plummeted below 76 pounds!

“Angie is so distraught over her breakup with Brad — and the terrible public image she’s gotten as a result — she absolutely refused to eat!” divulged a frightened insider. “The brutal divorce has pushed her to the edge. Now aides are insisting that she use [a] feeding tube to keep her from doing any further damage to her already fragile health!”

“Angie would stay in the room for days, sometimes weeks, and [Brad] would have to leave food by the door because she wouldn’t come out to eat,” the source revealed. “If she’s really skinny, she must be doing it again. He’s well-liked in the industry, and carries a lot of clout.” Now the unexpected and brutal backlash has thrown Angie into a grim health crisis, sources said.

“She suffered an emotional and physical collapse,” according to one insider. Her deteriorating health situation became so dire the star hired a doctor to be on call 24/7, according to another close source — adding: “Angie has become so malnourished that there are times when she’s become lightheaded, and on the verge of passing out.”

Such a radical solution is normally confined to the elderly or patients with life-threatening illnesses, but Angelina has used her influence and financial resources to keep it a secret, and to keep her going. “Angie does things her way,” the source said. “She’s got enough cash to keep people quiet — if not happy.”

But one medical expert predicted Angie’s short-term solution will lead to long-term disaster. “If she’s so debilitated that her stomach muscles are not working well enough to digest her food, she’s in real trouble,” warned New York City internist Dr. Stuart Fischer. “A feeding tube is not a quick fix.
