Adam Lanza horrified the nation with his depraved mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School — slaughtering innocents after murdering his neglectful mother in her own bed!
Lanza blew his own brains out his sickening rampage of Dec. 14, 2012 — leaving 20 children dead, along with six adult staff members at the Connecticut school. The death
of the depraved shooter was met with relief. The senseless killings, however, also left people infuriated over Lanza's murdered mother, who was shot in her bed after helping her son collect a deadly arsenal!

Law enforcement sources refused to condemn the dead woman, but others close to the investigation told
The National ENQUIRER that the 52-year-old divorcee had taken to heavy drinking to ignore Adam's problems. "Questions are being raised as to why Nancy didn't have Adam institutionalized after
witnessing his obvious decline," said the insider. "Ms. Lanza's behavior at social gatherings may help answer some of those questions."

Nancy had told pals that her son's mental state was "getting worse," and that he was even burning himself with a lighter. "Of course," said the source, "no parent wants to commit their child. But it's mind-boggling that this woman kept an arsenal in her home while her son was a ticking time bomb. If Ms. Lanza was drinking too much, it's entirely possible that Adam may have been able to obtain easier access to her gun collection."

Adam's doomed mother was soon blasted as the woman who helped cause the shootings — but some residents of the small community of Newtown supported the murdered mom. "I've known Nancy and the family for at least 12 years," Louise Tambascio, owner of MyPlace restaurant in Newtown, told The ENQUIRER. "Nancy was in here all the time, but I hadn't seen Adam for years...no one could have predicted he would do this."

A family friend told a reporter that Nancy carefully prepared her son's vegan meals and was teaching him to cook. When he was sick, he would insist his mother sleep outside his bedroom door, checking periodically to make sure she was still there. Another pal insisted: "Clearly Nancy overindulged her demanding son and, in the end, he virtually controlled her."

Her son had still waited for Nancy's return from a two-day getaway in New Hampshire before starting his killing spree. "Maybe Nancy should have seen the signs," said the family friend, "but she did everything she could to help Adam. Of course, she thought about putting Adam somewhere for better care — but as troubled as he was, he was still her baby!"
