Abby Lee Miller has quit the hit Lifetime series "Dance Moms" — with the show at risk of a lengthy break as she faces a possible 30 months in prison! Abby, however, made it clear that she was really leaving over creative differences, saying she “asked, begged and even demanded creative credit...to no avail!” Fortunately, former "Dancing With the Stars" beauty Cheryl Burke was waiting in the wings!

Lifetime quickly announced that Cheryl was taking over the show — as producers became aware something was wrong after the troubled dance instructor "bolted" early from filming recent episodes. Her abrupt exit comes just weeks before Abby faces sentencing after pleading guilty to criminal charges — including not reporting an international monetary transaction, plus one count of concealing bankruptcy assets in June 2016. She faces up to 30 months in prison.

Meanwhile, it's a lucky break for Cheryl, who saw her hopes for a variety show on NBC fizzle in 2015. She returned to "DWtS" for some spins with Ryan Lochte — as The National ENQUIRER's own Rob Shuter reported that Cheryl had to put up with a diva attitude from the disgraced Olympian. Dancing kids and bickering mothers might be an improvement!
