Aaron Hernandez went from being a football star to serving a life sentence for murder — before the cowardly 27-year-old hung himself from a bed sheet in his prison cell! The 2013 murder of fellow jock Odin Lloyd left the disgraced footballer locked up just a mile from the stadium where he once earned millions as a tight end for the New England Patriots. The wannabe gangster came to a sad end after embracing the thug life and covering himself in gang tattoos, writing brutal prison letters full of criminal posturing!

One shocking prison letter found Hernandez viciously attacking a woman who dared to criticize the lifestyle that landed him behind bars: “Buy the most powerful firecracker in the world that’s possible to buy,” he wrote, “tie it to your face with duct tape, light it and wait for your head to explode.” He also told the woman, “Tie a cinderblock to your ankles and jump in a deep body of water” — and then went on to blast Patriots owner Robert Kraft, calling him “fake-ass non-loyal Kraft, who told me he loved me every time he seen me but obviously shows his word ain’t sh*t.”

Kraft's crime against Hernandez was seemingly a claim by the Patriots owner that he felt “duped” by Hernandez after the athlete signed a $37.5 million contract extension in 2012 — only to rot away behind bars. Hernandez also insisted on looking back at his glory days, writing of the Patriots: “I watch every game faithfully cheering them on, and always will cuz I have love for so many of them!” Hernandez also embarrassed superstar quarterback Tom Brady by declaring: "The closest I was with was probably Brady, and whom I love to death and always will..."

But not every letter was filled with tough talk. RadarOnline.com busted Aaron trying to woo a lady from his prison cell — while still engaged to girlfriend Shayanna Jenkins! Hernandez tried to convince his unidentified correspondent that he was innocent, writing: “Yes, I have been convicted of a crime and sentenced to life in jail when I’m innocent, but God has a plan for us all." And while Hernandez was ultimately unable to handle prison life, he boasted in 2015: "People still don't understand how I'm so happy every day!"
