”He is constantly kicking his cell door and screaming at the top of his lungs, utilizing profanity at times when he wants something, regardless of how minuscule it is,” wrote one prison guard — adding: ”It is not uncommon for Hernandez to kick his cell door constantly until an officer approaches his cell merely to ask the officer for the current time.”

One report from Nov. 20, 2013, revealed how Hernandez spent a long night stuffing his face with honey buns and cakes after he mistakenly receive a delivery from the jail commissary to his cell. He had been denied access to the commissary as punishment for threatening a guard. “I’m a smart dude,” Hernandez later boasted to the guards who found wrappers in his cell. “I knew you’d be coming for this stuff…that’s why I ate as much food as I could.”

The papers also revealed that Hernandez was involved in at least four fights, with the burly inmate often facing challenges from fellow prisoners. “Chemical agent was utilized to separate the inmates,” after one fight. In another disgusting incident, Hernandez and another inmate were reduced to a prolonged spitting battle while next to each other in cells placed out in the prison yard.

The prison records show that Hernandez occasionally boasted of being part of the “Bloods Street Gang.” Guards reported that Hernandez often “kept to himself” and often appeared “despondent.” In one bizarre incident, Hernandez actually ate a letter before guards could see its contents, screaming: "I'll eat the sh*t, and then you don't get sh*t!"

Ultimately, though, the prison documents reveal the emptiness of Hernandez's blustering before he was found dead in his cell on April 19, 2017. “This place ain’t sh*t to me,” Hernandez once told the guards. “I’ll run this place and keep running sh*t. Prison ain’t sh*t to me!”
