A young brown bear has been released back into the wild in Utah after making a trip to the city over the weekend, being spotted along a busy highway, visiting a gas station, and even an apartment pool, officials said.

The Heber City Police Department responded to one such sighting near the Wingpointe Apartments pool on Saturday. The brown bear fled across Highway 40, however, toward the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office, police said.

The bear was later spotted at an On The Run gas station, then at the Royal Coachman mobile home park. Officer eventually caught up to the bear and managed to chase it up a tree. Once the bear was treed, Utah Division of Wildlife Resources officers were able to tranquilize it.

Photos shared by the police department show the bear in the tree, and lying on the ground after being sedated.

Wildlife officers held the bear overnight for monitoring, then transported it well outside the city to release it into the wild.
