Not many people say “no!” to “American Idol” icon/mega-mogul SIMON COWELL these days – but hunky “High School Musical” star ZAC EFRON did exactly that (cheeky little bugger!), nixing the Brit record producer’s big buck$$ offer to make him a…er, star!
“With my know-how and your voice, we can make millions,” said Simon – who even offered to charter a jet to fly Zac to London for discussions.
But Zac told Simon that, unlike his “High School” co-stars (VANESSA HUDGENS, ASHLEY TISDALE and CORBIN BLEU), he doesn’t want the distraction of cutting a solo album – he’s focused solely on his movie career.
Zac politely added that if he changes his mind, Simon will be the first to know.
