Even scribblers from other shows went into killer mode! “Ugly Betty” creator SILVIO HORTA cracked to the press: “I would have put her in a coma!”
But when word of the savage revenge scheme leaked, the Power Suits exploded!
Insiders say steamed ABC Prez STEVE MCPHERSON ripped into Rhimes and told her (1) Heigl’s a Big Star; (2) She STAYS on “Grey’s”; (3) Write her a hot story line pronto, and any writers who don’t like it are OUT!
That’s why Rhimes made nice-nice when she gushed to an industry gathering about her “love and respect” for Heigl and confirmed that “we have a great story” for the star! (Aaaawww, poor, powerless writers!)
