TAKE THAT, YOU DIRTY RAT DEPT.: “Desperate Housewives” star DOUG SAVANT, who plays FELICITY HUFFMAN’s hubby, and real-life wife LAURA LEIGHTON of “Melrose Place” were evicted from their home by vicious Hollywood rats (the fourlegged kind) – but finally defeated the horde of sharp-toothed critters that drove them to live in a hotel for months with their two little kids.
Said My Backstage Squealer: “Laura was afraid the rats would bite the children, so she pressured Doug to move out of their Hollywood Hills home and into a hotel! Doug agreed – but not because he was intimidated.
He hired exterminators and remodeled, of course, but he’d go over to the house and personally kill the rats. Doug was ever so proud of that, and loved showing dead rodent snapshots to the ‘Housewives’ cast. It really grossed everybody out!”
