Newly “wed” HEIDI MONTAG’s furious mother HATES that “The Hills” villain SPENCER PRATT sweettalked Darling Daughter into a Mexican “marriage” that’s strictly illegal under U.S. law – and keeps warning her little hottie that she must NOT, under any circumstances, bow to his demand to change her name to “Heidi Pratt!”
Sources say DARLENE EGELHOFF’s waged a fierce, behind-the-scenes war against Spencer’s arrogant edict that Heidi must take the name “Pratt,” both professionally and “legally” – and she’s raging at his refusal to even consider a “Montag-Pratt” compromise.
Darlene told Heidi: “You’ve made a huge mistake, and you’ll be lucky if you last even six months as man and wife. Don’t change your name now, or you’ll just have to switch back to ‘Montag’ when your marriage goes south – and that will just confuse your fans even more!”
Wicked Brat Pratt’s fighting back, huffing to his harried “wife” that marriage is FOREVER, and insisting she must henceforth refer to herself as “Pratt” in all matters.
He’s also ordered her to stop dragging her feet and agree to the demand that’s most crucial to her career – changing her official star credit on “The Hills” to “Heidi Pratt.”
Said the source: “Heidi is totally torn up about this, but Spencer is really putting on the pressure, saying to her, ‘If you love me, you’ll change your name to mine. You’re my wife – now and forever!’”
