Former First Lady Michelle Obama’s shocking admission that she didn’t want to have a son with former President Barack Obama is another unmistakable sign that their troubled marriage is on the verge of complete collapse, insiders say.
“She’s not even hiding her disdain for her husband any longer,” says one Beltway source. “It’s clear she doesn’t care what he or anybody else thinks. She’s obviously done with him.”
When radio host Angie Martinezsuggested she and the former president “should’ve [thrown] a boy into the mix” when growing their family, the 61-year-old The Light We Carry author immediately shot down the suggestion.
No, Michelle snarked, “he would have been a Barack Obama.”
It wasn’t the first time she rejected the suggestion that she and the former president should have had a son.

During a March interview on Kylie Kelce’s Not Gonna Lie podcast in March, she also abruptly dismissed the idea that she and Barack should have expanded their brood.
“I just had to stop,” Michelle told the wife of retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce. “I was like, ‘I think I’ve been lucky with these two,’ ” referring to the couple’s two daughters, Malia, 26, and Sasha, 24.
A D.C. insider tells the National ENQUIRER that the harsh comments deeply embarrassed and wounded the former president, 63. “Saying she didn’t want to have his son was like stabbing him in the heart.”
“He’s now telling his inner circle it’s time for both he and Michelle to go their separate ways,” the source says.

As the ENQUIRER was first to report, divorce rumors have dogged the couple ever since Michelle skipped President Donald Trump’s second inauguration in January, despite her insistence that “the choice was right for me.”
In June, Michelle marveled at the strength and resilience of Bruce Springsteen’s union with Patti Scialfa on the IMO podcast she does with her brother, Craig Robinson.
“I marvel at you and Patti and the work that you all have done,” she said of the Springsteens’ 34-year marriage.

On an earlier episode of the podcast, the Chicago native drew criticism for openly flirting with 43-year-old Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky, joking that if she were single and found out he was too, she might just book a stay at his place!
“All of these public comments are calculated shots at her husband,” a source says. “She knows what’s she saying … and it’s showcasing their troubles to the public.”
