Meals On Wheels Atlanta Welcomes New Board Members As It Marks 60 Years Of Service

Meals On Wheels Atlanta (MOWA) has announced the appointment of four new members to its board of trustees as the nonprofit celebrates 60 years of providing meals, home repair and other services to the city’s seniors.

Joining the board are Michael Astwood, founder of ASRT, Inc.; award-winning chef Kevin Gillespie; Michelle Marshall, founder and CEO of The PurposeWell Group; and finance executive Alfredo Martin.

Astwood is the founder of ASRT, Inc., a company that provides science and technology-based solutions in health, science, and medicine to government agencies. A former chief operating officer of IHRC, Inc., Astwood holds a Bachelor of Science in microbiology and molecular biology from Georgia Tech and a Master of Science in medical bioinformatics from Johns Hopkins University.

Gillespie is a well-known chef, restaurateur, and cookbook author who gained national attention as a finalist on season six of Bravos “Top Chef.” His restaurants, Gunshow and Nàdair, have received MICHELIN Guide recognition. Gillespie has earned multiple James Beard Foundation nominations, including a finalist nod for Outstanding Restaurateur in 2022 and Best Chef: South in 2016.

Marshall is a strategist and changemaker with a background in corporate responsibility and social innovation. She leads The PurposeWell Group, a consulting firm that develops purpose-driven initiatives around culture, equity, and opportunity. Marshall previously served as head of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Social Impact at PUMA North America.

Martin is the executive director of The Columbia Foundation, which supports initiatives related to children, education, and the arts. With more than 20 years in finance, he has held roles at KPMG, Deloitte, Ford, General Motors, and The Financial Times. Martin also serves on the boards of The Atlanta Opera, Atlanta Chamber Players, and the advisory council for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
