Igloo is expanding its recall of 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers due to reports of fingertip injuries including lacerations, bone fractures and amputations, after previously recalling more than a million units in February, according to a notice posted by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The recall expansion adds three additional models of 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers manufactured prior to January 2024: Model 34692 with date code 07/2020-09/2021; Model 34785 with date code 10/2021-12/2022; and Model 34790 with date code 10/2021-02/2023. The date of manufacture can be found imprinted on the bottom of the cooler with an arrow pointing to the month of manufacture and the last two digits of the year of manufacture.

About 130,000 of the newly recalled models were sold in the U.S., about 20,000 were sold in Canada and nearly 6,000 were sold in Mexico.

In February, Igloo recalled nearly four dozen models of the 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers, sold in multiple body and lid color combinations.

The tow handle on the recalled coolers can pinch users’ fingertips, posing amputation and crush hazards. As of the February recall, Igloo had received 12 reports of fingertip injuries, including fingertip amputations, bone fractures, and lacerations.

In the months since the February recall, Igloo has received an additional 78 reports of fingertip injuries, including 26 resulting in fingertip amputations, bone fractures or lacerations.

The recalled coolers were sold at Costco, Target, Academy, Dicks, and other stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com, Igloocoolers.com, and other websites from January 2019 through January 2025 for between $80 and $140.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled coolers and contact Igloo for a free replacement handle.
