Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling received an honorary degree from Edinburgh University. The author was bestowed the degree of doctor honoris causa to mark her contribution to children’s literature. Rowling completed a teacher training course at the University 1996, the same year “Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone,” was selected for publication.
