A gunman opened fire on “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott, lead guitarist for the rock band Damageplan as the group was performing on stage. The gunman killed five people including Abbott before being killed by a policeman who arrived on the scene. Ironically, the shooting occurred on the 24th anniversary of the assassination of another rock musician – John Lennon.
