Lance Bass, a member of the boy band pop group ‘N Sync, has confirmed that he may be the youngest person ever to travel into space.
Bass is talking with MirCorp — a company based in Amsterdam — and if all goes as planned, Bass will be on his way into The Final Frontier as early as November 2002.
“I am completely overwhelmed at the invitation,” said Bass in a statement. “I’m looking forward to completing this lifelong dram. I am honored and privileged to represent my country in this history-making mission.”
Before the mission, Bass will have to endure five to six months of training. The training will start in May at a base in Russia. There is also talk of a television special documenting Bass’ space flight entitled Celebrity Mission: Lance Bass.
