The Netflix series calling for his release is fatally flawed.

The controversial documentary series “Making a Murderer” has inspired nearly 300,000 people to sign a petition demanding the pardon of two convicted killers.

But The National ENQUIRER has unearthed disturbing holes in the argument made by the film — airing on on-demand service Netflix — that the men are innocent!

“You don’t want to muddy up a perfectly good conspiracy movie with what actually happened,” said Wisconsin State Prosecutor Ken Kratz.

Despite the public outcry to free Steven Avery and his mentally challenged nephew, Brendan Dassey, The ENQUIRER has learned the series ignored a mountain of evidence that seems to point to their guilt!

Brutal Avery, 53, was convicted of killing Teresa Halbach, 25, on Oct. 31, 2005 — the same day she went to his scrap yard in Two Rivers, Wis., to take a photo of a minivan for Auto Trader Magazine. He is serving a life sentence. Dassey was convicted of helping his uncle murder Teresa, and also sentenced to life in prison.

The 10-part series suggests authorities framed Avery to discredit a $36 million lawsuit he filed against Manitowoc County after DNA evidence exonerated him on a previous rape charge for which he’d served 18 years behind bars!

But filmmakers Moira Demos and Laura Ricciardi omitted many irrefutable facts that paint a very different picture of the convicted killers, The ENQUIRER has learned!

In a damaging piece of evience, cops found handcuffs and leg irons in Avery’s house, his mom’s home and even Dassey’s mom’s home!

While behind bars for rape, Avery drew up blueprints for a torture chamber he planned to build after his release.

What’s more, two other women filed sworn affidavits saying Avery raped them!

Dassey’s mother, Barbara Janda, told police her son helped Avery bleach the floor of his uncle’s garage around Halloween 2005 — the last day Teresa was seen alive!

The filmmakers also suggested police tampered with the key to Teresa’s vehicle, which was found in Avery’s home.

According to the film, authorities swabbed the key with a sample of Avery’s blood that had been in an evidence file, and then planted it.

But The ENQUIRER can reveal the key not only had Avery’s DNA on it — but also his sweat! More of his sweat was also found on Teresa’s car.

In another sinister coincidence, Avery called Auto Trader the day of the murder to ask that Teresa go to his scrap yard. Also that day, he called Teresa’s cell phone THREE TIMES — and used the *67 call-blocking feature to hide his identity!

His call to Auto Trader came 21 days after Avery greeted Teresa at his home wearing just a towel. Said a prosecutor: “She said she wouldn’t go back because she was scared.”

The film also didn’t mention a bullet with Teresa’s DNA that was matched by ballistics to a rifle on Avery’s wall!

Despite these facts, thousands of viewers cried for the release of Avery and Dassey — but it could all just be a ruse!

Kratz said: “If I was spoon-fed only what the Netflix documentary wanted me to see, I’d come to exactly the same conclusion!”
