A suicide drama involving Angelina Jolie has stunned both her husband Brad Pitt and father Jon Voight, tearing apart Hollywood’s first family, The National ENQUIRER can reveal.
In a bombshell world exclusive, sources say the crisis erupted only weeks after the actress was hit by the one-two punch of a debilitating bout of chicken pox and the public humiliation of the Sony hacking scandal.
The rail-thin, 93-pound “Unbroken” director was brought to “near collapse,” according to a source, when “a long-ago, hushed-up dark family secret exploded anew, devastating Angie to her core.”
The secret was buried in a stunning “paramedic’s report,” obtained by The ENQUIRER, about a 1991 incident involving Voight and the death of a gorgeous young woman.
It’s a secret that sources say 39-year-old Angelina’s tried to keep hidden for years!
“Angelina never wanted this to surface again because it reminds her of her own dark past and her troubled relationship with her father,” a source told The ENQUIRER.
“This girl’s death was too close to home because Angie had also thought — long ago – about killing herself!”
At the time of the tragedy, Angelina was 15. The so-called “wild child” regularly cut herself in her teens and 20s, and her relationship with her father deteriorated badly after his 1980 divorce from Angie’s beloved mother, the late actress Marcheline Bertrand.
The drama began with Voight – who skyrocketed to fame in “Midnight Cowboy,” “Deliverance” and “Coming Home” – comforting a female friend through a painful divorce, sources say.
Voight even allowed the woman – a modeling agent identified as Julie “Cindy” Jones – to live temporarily in an apartment he was renting near his Hollywood home.
Then, in the early morning hours of March 11, 1991, tragedy struck – and Voight’s friend apparently took her life with a bullet to her chest.
Voight was one of the last people to speak to Cindy, and according to authorities, the Oscar winner discovered the 33-year-old beauty on the floor of his apartment in a pool of blood.
The source told The ENQUIRER: “Now, decades later, scandal is tearing apart the family – and both Brad and Jon are stunned because it’s brought back painful memories for Angelina.
