Sol Pais, who made what law enforcement called “credible threats” to Denver area schools, is dead, an official told CNN on Wednesday, April 17.

“There is no longer a threat to the community,” the Denver office of the FBI confirmed in a tweet.

A law enforcement source told The Denver Post that Pais was spotted running naked through the woods near Mount Evans before she killed herself.

“She is definitely dead. It was a self-inflicted wound,” the source told the paper.

The 18-year-old from Florida was “infatuated” with the Columbine massacre, which took the lives of 13 people in 1999. She had traveled to Colorado on Monday — days ahead of the 20th anniversary of the tragedy — and immediately bought a pump-action shotgun and ammo upon arrival, the FBI had said Tuesday, launching a nationwide manhunt. Schools in the Denver area canceled classes Wednesday.

The National ENQUIRER has also obtained a note written by the high-school senior on March 30, in which she quotes lyrics from the Nine Inch Nails song “Sunspots”:

Now i just stare into the sun
and i see everything i’ve done,
i think i could’ve been someone,
but i can’t stop what has begun.
when everything is said and done,
and there is no place left to run,
i think i used to be someone,
now i just stare into the sun.

Prior to her death, RadarOnline.com spoke to her father, Gardi Pais, who reported her missing to the police. “Please, Sol, go to the police. Turn yourself in,” he urged his daughter.

A source also previously told Radar of Sol, “This is a girl who wrote about her infatuation with Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris. She drew photos of them and ‘dreamed’ about reliving the tragedy.”
