Kanye West suffered his epic meltdown backstage at “Saturday Night Live” last month, declaring himself more influential than Stanley Kubrick and Pablo Picasso, but that was just him being an “artist” — according to SNL boss Lorne Michaels.
“He’s an artist, you know? A great artist,” Lorne said. “That happened in his dressing room. Kanye’s been on the show a lot of years, and it’s always different.
“When he did the 40th anniversary show — which I wanted him to be part of it — I had no idea what he was going to do, even 10 minutes before we went on the air!” Lorne revealed. “He just always delivers — and he’s Kanye.”
The music superstar/fashion designer/cultural influencer warned everyone “Don’t f**k with me” after changes were made to his set just a half-hour before air.
Luckily, Lorne was able to talk Kim Kardashian’s husband out of walking off the show.
