“Walking Dead” Love Triangle

Norman Redus and Lauren Cohan

A cut-throat love triangle and death of a leading character are just two of the surprises that “Walking Dead” producers are planning for the next season of the hit AMC show!

Ratings for the series about a zombie apocalypse have gone through the roof, attracting some 15 million viewers a week to become the highest rated non-network program in history.

And industry insiders tell The ENQUIRER that the producers want to keep the unexpected twists and turns coming in the upcoming fifth season, which begins in October.

Word has it that one of the main characters will valiantly succumb to a zombie attack, shaking up the survivors’ whole power structure.

Another goal, according to a source, will be to create more scenes together for the show’s resident sex symbols – Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan).

As viewers know, Maggie got engaged to the group’s brainy Glenn Rhee (Steve Yeun) when he chopped a ring off the finger of a rotting zombie.

Since then, producers have been vague about whether Glenn and Maggie are married – Glenn refers to her once as his “wife.”

But producers are apparently worried that the romance has become stale and want Daryl to make a move on the gutsy beauty.

“They’re both incredibly good- looking and the show’s brass wants to get them entwined in a love story, where Daryl and Glenn, despite being friends, battle for her affections,” explained the source.

“The producers aren’t afraid to mix it up to keep the show fresh and exciting. So you can bet there’s going to be some major, wild storylines coming up next season.”
