Vanessa Hudgens has secretly turned to old boyfriend Zac Efron to help her cope with a devastating family crisis – and turned her back on steady boyfriend, actor Austin Butler!
And Zac came running, despite having his own steady gal pal, Sami Miro!
“Vanessa quietly reached out to Zac during her time of need,” said a source. “And he was only too kind to offer her a shoulder to cry on.”
Vanessa, 26, is distraught over her father Greg’s battle with stage 4 cancer, and turned to her first real love Zac, 27, who – as The National ENQUIRER reported at the time – was close to popping the question back in 2010.
Vanessa recently accepted an award for Breakthrough Performer at the Industry Dance Awards in Los Angeles, where she also revealed her dad’s health crisis.
She choked up while dedicating her award to Austin’s late mother, Lori, as well as her dad.
“Vanessa may have dedicated her award to Austin and his late mom,” said the source. “But what he doesn’t know is that she still pines for Zac!”
