Robert Downey Jr. has hired sober coaches for himself and son Indio, sources said.

“Given his history and what his boy has been through recently, Robert is leaving nothing to chance,” said a source close to the actor.

“He spends up to $1,000 a day for sober coaches or companions for himself and his son.”

Indio, 21, pleaded guilty to cocaine possession after a June bust in West Hollywood. He’s now in rehab in Utah.

“When Indio flew down to L.A. to go to court, he had a sober coach shadowing him 24-7,” said the source.

During Indio’s court appearance on Sept. 12, the judge noted that he’d gotten glowing reviews from the treatment center.

With his dad in the courtroom, Indio thanked Judge Keith L. Schwartz for allowing him to enter the program, and said he’d take what he learned in treatment to heart.

He also said he’d seek advice from his father – who bounced in and out of jail and rehab for years before battled and beat his own demons.
