Insiders on “Saturday Night Live” are asking former “SNL” stars Tina Fey and Amy Poehler to help save troubled “Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon, following his downward spiral of booze and drugs.
“We’re all worried Jimmy may lose everything he’s worked so hard to achieve,” a source told The National ENQUIRER.
“Tina and Amy are the perfect people to intervene. They know the pressure of running their own shows.”
As The ENQUIRER has reported, Jimmy’s partying got him booted out of the New York home he shares with wife Nancy Juvonen and their two daughters in early November — forcing him to move into a hotel.
According to another TV mole, staffers are pushing Lorne Michaels — an executive producer of both “SNL” and “The Tonight Show” — to arrange the meeting of the show’s iconic “Weekend Update” anchors.
Calls have also gone out to Jimmy’s high school pal and writing partner, Gerard Bradford, a source said.
Jimmy’s partying may stem from his insecurity over competing with Stephen Colbert’s “Late Show,” according to another insider.
“Stephen’s success is stressing Jimmy out,” said the source. “He’s crushing it as an interviewer, which is Jimmy’s weak spot.”
