Things keep getting worse for Teen Mom star Amber Portwood. Her daughter Leah is now a ward of the state of Indiana!
Amber and her baby daddy Gary Shirley were in court on Tuesday for a child custody hearing in which Leah was placed in the care of her father, RadarOnline.com reports. However, Leah is technically a ward of the state because her guardianship is determined by a judge who appoints a government agency to oversee the child’s affairs.
Amber and her ex-fiancé Gary left court arm-in-arm without commenting to the media. Radar reports Amber was then taken to visit Leah at Gary’s home with supervision by the Indiana Department of Child Services.
The Department of Child Services has placed a six month monitoring period on Amber in the wake of her alleged assault on Gary that aired on MTV’s reality drama Teen Mom. She’s been charged with two felony counts and one misdemeanor for domestic violence and battery.
