SPICE GIRL SEEKS CHILD SUPPORT FROM EDDIE MURPHY

Melanie Brown (aka Scary Spice) went to court Wednesday, seeking child support from Eddie Murphy, estranged father to her daughter.

Though Murphy submitted to a paternity test in June that proved he was the father of Mel B.’s baby, it was never formally acknowledged in court. Now, the 32-year-old singer has filed a petition in the Superior Court that asks for Murphy to not only legally establish himself as the father to her four-month-old girl, Angel, but to also pay child support.

“I am here today for one reason and one reason only; her name is Angel,” Brown said. “Angel is my baby and Eddie’s. She will always know that she was planned and wanted by both of us.”

Brown dated Murphy last year, and gave birth to her daughter on April 3. Since listing Murphy as the father on the birth certificate, Murphy has both denied paternity and refused to publicly talk about the child.

Murphy has five children from his marriage to Nicole Mitchell Murphy, who filed for divorce in 2005. Brown also has an 8-year-old daughter.
