Shania Twain thought her career was over ten years ago!

Rocked by severe dizzy spells that nearly sent her crashing off stage — and the inexplicable loss of her voice — Shania panicked.

“I was sure I’d never sing again,” confessed the 52-year-old country-pop superstar.

But doctors discovered a tick bite left Shania with debilitating “Lyme Disease” and “Dysphonia,” a vocal cord disorder.

“They put five long needles in my larynx,” she said. “There’s one nerve to each vocal cord and both were atrophied.”

She underwent months of grueling treatment, followed by extensive speech therapy and vocal training.  Her new album, Now, recounts her struggles — including her 2010 divorce from producer Robert “Mutt” Lange, who left her for her best friend.

“I wasn’t just broken, I was shattered,” she admitted. “But I’m a survivor.”
