Rock star Scott Weiland was found dead on his tour bus last night in Bloomington, Minn. — and no one’s surprised!

The 48-year-old lead singer for Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver had been disappointing fans with recent shows that suggested he was back on drugs.

“Scott had gotten to the point where he’d talk about doing drugs on stage,” said one longtime fan.

“He probably thought that’s what we expected from him!

“Instead, we just wanted him to do a show without him forgetting the songs and staggering all over the place!”

Scott, who claimed to have a bipolar disorder, became an overnight star with the 1992 release of Stone Temple Pilots’ “Core” album.

In 1995, he was busted for crack cocaine — with the celebrity having already become notorious for hanging out in front of crack houses instead of sending in his personal assistants.

“It was wild to be standing in line with a bunch of other druggies and realize you were behind a millionaire,” recalled one ex-addict in New York City.

Sadly, Weiland continued to experiment with drugs amongst bouts of being sober.

After the breakup of Stone Temple Pilots, Scott had a successful solo career and was lead vocalist for the hit rock band Velvet Revolver.

He claimed to have given up heroin in 2002, although Scott blamed some erratic live shows in 2007 on a “short” reliance on cocaine.

Insiders were already speculating that Scott had lost his life over a renewed addiction to cocaine and amphetamines.

“I hate to say it, but Scott became better known for being stoned on stage than putting on great shows,” said a pal.

“Even if the death is ruled as natural causes, we all know that Scott’s addictions really cost him his life!”
