Folks over 50 should monitor their TV viewing! Watching too many soaps, documentaries or reality shows has been shown to impair their ability to recall words by up to 10 percent! Excessive viewing may kick off “cognitive stress” that leads to memory loss, according to University of London researchers. Worse yet, the study found too much tubing can lead to the development of dementia. Researchers recommend no more than 3.5 hours of TV a day.

HEAL YOUR HEART WITHOUT EXERCISE! 

An experimental protein can “trick” the heart into healthy growth without exercise and reduce the risk of heart disease. The protein, cardiotrophin 1 (CT1), prompts heart muscles to “grow in a more healthy way,” said Lynn Megeney, senior author of a report in the journal Nature. CT1 stimulated the growth of new blood vessels in animal tests, she noted, and led to “dramatic improvements” in heart function. The substance could be used in the future to treat cardiac muscle damage!
