Rita Moreno and Norman Lear aren’t holding back! The actress and One Day at a Time producer have slammed Netflix for canceling the popular show despite his high ratings after just three seasons in March.

The two penned a piece for The Hollywood Reporter where they blasted the streaming service for calling it quits on a show that has a 98 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

“One could argue that it’s the data — what we’ve known through the years as Nielsen ratings — that inevitably drives the decision-making process,” they wrote.  “But something is missing if that is the only criterion for the survival of a show, the only data point, the only litmus test.”

They even noted that the series was crucial for “underrepresented audiences” and “addressed real-life issues with heart.” Cleary not enough reason to keep it on TV, however…

And now they want viewers to speak up for the sake of other small shows before it’s too late. “There’s a lesson here for all of us — content creators, artists and consumers — to speak up. When you find a show you fall in love with, something that matters to you, something that makes you laugh louder and love harder, share it,” they added.

“Scream from the rooftops and swing from the chandeliers talking about it. Join your voice with others before, not after.” Noted…
