He played the detective, but now he’s the one behind bars. Rick Schroder, who played Det. Danny Sorenson on NYPD Blue, was arrested in the early morning hours of Wednesday, May 1, for domestic violence at his home, The National ENQUIRER can confirm.

“Malibu Lost Hills Station received a call of domestic violence … at approximately 12:43 a.m.,” the L.A. Sheriff’s office told The ENQUIRER. “When deputies arrived, they made contact with the suspect and victim. They identified evidence of a physical altercation.”

“Suspect Richard Schroder, male, white, 49 years old, was arrested for domestic violence,” law enforcement continued.

The woman declined to be treated, according to police. The actor, who found fame as a child star in the hit ’80s sitcom Silver Spoons, was booked into the Malibu Lost Hills Station and is being held on $50,000 bail.

According to the L.A. Sheriff’s office, there was a “similar incident” on April 2, again shortly after midnight, between Schroder and the same female at the same address. The actor was released on bond after that arrest.

The actor and his wife of 23 years, Andrea Schroder, split in September 2016, just weeks ahead of their 24th wedding anniversary. In her divorce filings, she listed “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for ending the marriage, and asked for sole legal and physical custody of their youngest child, who was still underage at the time of the split. The former couple shares four children.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the two sold their Spanish-style Topanga, California, ranch, which sits on 30 acres, in March for a whopping $9.3 million. They had purchased the property in 2005.
