“MacGyver” star Richard Dean Anderson has slammed the reboot slated to debut on Sept. 23!
Producers of the new series — which stars Lucas Till and has already undergone a major cast and crew overhaul — mentioned in July that they “reached out” to Richard, who played the ingenious, Swiss-Army knife and duct tape carrying hero from 1985 to 1992.
“Yes, I was asked, but no, I won’t be involved in the ‘MacGyver’ reboot,” Richard wrote on his official website.
“And all I can say is, I’m not considering being a part of a project that has overlooked the insanely loyal fans of the original character and has proceeded without considering how and why they all became and stayed loyal fans,” he blasted.
