Country queen Reba McEntire’s shock $65 million split was no surprise to her famous daughter-in-law, The ENQUIRER has learned.
“Since U Been Gone” singer Kelly Clarkson – who’s married to the son of Reba’s estranged husband, Narvel Blackstock – desperately tried to help the couple reconcile, sources said.
A source told The ENQUIRER: “Kelly’s real close to Reba, and she’s secretly known about the breakup for months. She really believed that she could help keep her in-laws together, but Reba told her it was a lost cause.”
Narvel has managed Reba’s career for more than three decades – but the source said their marriage had been wrecked by infighting.
Another source told The ENQUIRER: “Their marriage apparently had become more of a business than a romance. “Certainly, it caught Kelly in the middle. Narvel handles her business affairs, and she and Reba are really like mother and daughter.”
As The ENQUIRER has reported, Kelly’s marriage to Brandon Blackstock has turned bumpy as her weight has soared to over 200 pounds since giving birth to 14-month-old daughter River Rose.
Added the second source: “When the going gets tough, at least Reba and Kelly will always have each other’s shoulder to cry on!”
