FORMER “M*A*S*H” star Gary Burghoff is battling with his neighbors!
According to one neighbor, residents of the Nature Coast Landings RV park in Crystal River, Fla., are upset with the 70-year-old actor – who serves as the community’s board president – claiming he rules with an iron fist. And the board is so upset with his most recent antics it has decided NOT to re-elect him, the neighbor said!
“Gary Burghoff will likely go down in history as one of the worst board presidents Nature Coast Landings has ever seen,” one resident revealed. “Gary believes that being the board president gives him the right to make any decisions he wants without the rest of the board’s approval.”
The latest clash with neighbors came after Gary proposed heightened new security measures, including around-the-clock guards. The actor, who played Radar O’Reilly on the hit ’70s show, wants the extra security approved because he doesn’t want fans or the media contacting him, says the source.
The price tag for the proposal would be approximately $70,000 per year.
“The truth is Nature Coast Landings is a very quiet RV park…with no problems at all with crime, so there’s really no reason for the residents to have to pick up the exorbitant expense of around-the-clock guards,” the source added.
“If Gary wants to live in a place where the media or fans can’t gain access to him, then he needs to move.”
For his part, Radar is firing back: “The people who are saying these things don’t have the owners of this park in their best interests.”
