Family matriarch Priscilla is furious at Lisa Marie for not doing more to curb Riley’s bad behavior. And she’s deeply concerned that her 23-year-old granddaughter – who’s best-known for her roles as a druggie in the male stripper movie “Magic Mike” and as a lesbian lover in “Jack & Diane” – has become a hard-core partier who smokes, drinks and hangs out in Hollywood nightclubs with a much older crowd.
Even though Lisa Marie is also fed up with Riley’s fast and loose lifestyle, she wants Priscilla to mind her own business.
During a recent blowout over Lisa Marie’s mothering skills, a source says she lashed out at Priscilla, yelling: “Butt out of my life! She’s my kid and I’ll raise her the way I see fit! You didn’t do such a bang-up job yourself – so just stay out of it!”
Meanwhile, Lisa Marie’s attempts to stifle Riley’s wild ways have resulted in screaming matches and blowout battles too!
“Riley is definitely acting out – and she’s the reason why Lisa Marie and Priscilla are at war,” a family source told The ENQUIRER.
“Lisa’s way too lenient with her, and Priscilla is fighting to rein Riley in before she ends up in rehab, pregnant or worse – as another Hollywood casualty.”
Priscilla, 67, has seen firsthand what life in the fast lane can do – her ex-husband Elvis Presley died from heart problems due to a drug overdose, her son Navarone battled heroin addiction and she sent Lisa Marie to a Scientology program center when she was just a teenager.
She believes Lisa Marie has been turning a blind eye to Riley’s self-destructive behavior for years.
In 2006, The ENQUIRER published a shocking photo of the then-17- year-old locking lips with much-older pop star Ryan Cabrera at West Hollywood’s Key Club – with Lisa Marie seeming to encourage her! While Lisa Marie, 44, laughed off the photo, Priscilla went ballistic, says the source.
Ironically, Riley is now dating Cabrera, 30. She’d announced her engagement to her “Magic Mike” co-star Alex Pettyfer earlier this year but dumped him over the summer after reports that he’d cheated.
“Lisa Marie and Priscilla have never seen eye to eye on the way Riley was raised, and it’s not getting any better,” the source continued. “Priscilla argues with Lisa Marie, and Lisa Marie argues with Riley… and then Riley brings up all her mother’s past mistakes!
“There’s a lot of yelling, door slamming and plenty of tears.”
Priscilla also believes that her granddaughter’s bad behavior has increased since Lisa Marie and Riley cut ties with Scientology earlier this year.
“The bottom line is that Lisa Marie wants to do things her way with Riley, and Priscilla keeps adding her two cents,” added the source. “At this point, Riley is threatening to stop communicating with BOTH of them.”
