Hollywood icon Lawrence of Arabia, Dr. Zhivago star OMAR SHARIF explodes over situation in his native Egypt!
President Hosni Mubarak "should have resigned," the Lawrence of Arabia star told French radio from his Cairo home.
"Given that the entire Egyptian people don’t want him and he’s been in power for 30 years, that’s enough."
Sharif, who lives near Tahrir Square, where the protests imploded, also declared he "hasn’t improved the standard of living of Egyptians."
But the cagey actor also known for his contract bridge expertise voiced concern if the opposition seized power.
Sharif, who was born a Christian and converted to Islam as an adult said, "I don’t want the Muslim Brotherhood.
"They were trapped and now are starting to come out. They have 20 percent of the population, and it’s frightening for me."
