Michael Weatherly has announced that he’s leaving his hit series “NCIS” — just weeks after The ENQUIRE revealed how pals were begging the troubled star to go into rehab!

“After 13 years on NCIS, Michael Weatherly is leaving the show at the end of this season,” the CBS network said in a statement.

“He is a valued part of the CBS family, and the immense charm and talent he brings to the screen as ‘Very’ Special Agent Tony DiNozzo has helped make NCIS what it is today — the No. 1 drama in the world.”

But readers of The ENQUIRER know that Michael has been struggling with a serious addiction that’s had his friends convinced that he’ll end up in the slammer!

Michael was arrested this past November and charged with DUi and speeding when he was pulled over by Hollywood cops. He spent 15 hours in jail before being released.

“Friends are worried about him,” said one insider.

“They’re telling him to go into rehab and get a hold of his life!”

Just last year, the 47-year-old star proudly announced “i pulled way back on alcohol consumption” and dropped a whopping 35 pounds by going on a strict no-carb diet and following a healthy regimen.

But pals were worried the married father of three was self-medicating while stressed out over his added “NCIS” production duties!

“He’s got a lot on the table and probably needs to catch his breath a little bit,” said one friend concerned about Michael’s upcoming court case.

“Going into rehab will hopefully convince the judge that Michael is serious, while at the same time help him personally!”
