The massive Utah manhunt for the missing Michael Cavallari ended in tragedy today when he was found dead, according to his younger sister, reality TV star Kristin Cavallari.

“We want to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers during this very difficult time. We have just been informed by the authorities my brother’s body has been found,” Kristin said in a statement. “This is a very painful time and we are still processing it all. We kindly ask everyone please respect our privacy during our time of grieving.”

“I can confirm that a body was found and transported to the medical examiner’s office in Salt Lake City,” said a spokesperson for the Utah Medical Examiner’s Office.

Michael’s body was discovered by police nearly two weeks after his car was found abandoned and still running by the side of a I-70 in Utah. He was last seen on security camera footage at a convenience store in Monticello, Utah.

As The National ENQUIRER reported, Michael was arrested Nov. 23 in California on gun charges and released on bail.
