Loretta Lynn has suffered a stroke just weeks after her 85th birthday — rushed to a Tennessee hospital on the night of May 4 after falling ill in her Hurricane Mills home!

Family members have insisted that the country superstar is “responsive” and “expected to make a full recovery.”

Insiders, however, have told The National ENQUIRER that they fear Loretta is working herself to death just to support her family!

Her son Ernie, twin daughters Patsy and Peggy and one of her granddaughters are all in Loretta’s band.

The extended family helps the aging star by stepping up to give her a break during concerts, but they’re also on Loretta’s very large payroll.

“She’s singing for her whole family’s supper,” reported a friend.

The “Coal Miner’s Daughter” songbird has had trouble recalling songs during performances for years — and an Indiana concert in 2016 had become sadly typical, with a music critic reporting that Loretta “struggled at times, forgetting lyrics and running out of steam.”

And yet Loretta’s reps are already insisting that “shows will be rescheduled” as the singer fights to recover.
