LINDSAY LOHAN has surrendered to Los Angeles police to begin her time behind the barred curtains of her house arrest stint.

Lindsay was fitted with an electronic ankle monitor at the Lynwood Jail before returning to her Venice Beach home. Her house arrest is expected to continue for 35 days, RadarOnline.com reported.

In addition to the house arrest, LiLo has been ordered to perform 480 hours of community service, expected to be divided between a women's center and a morgue.

The Mean Girls star, 24, recently told Jay Leno that she’s hoping to get her shtick together.

"I let a lot of my fans down by putting myself in situations when I was young and wasn't thinking clearly,” the peroxide blonde said.

"But as long as I stay focused, then I will be able to achieve what I want to achieve."

Lotsa PR?
