Their romance burned hot before it flamed out, but their first date inspired friend Jim Weatherly to write a classic tune.
“I took Farrah to see Jim play … he was with me when I drove her to the airport.
He asked Farrah, ‘What flight are you taking?’ She said, ‘The midnight plane to Houston,’” recalls Lee.
After a few tweaks requested by Gladys Knight, the song became the classic “Midnight Train to Georgia!”
