COREY ALLEN, the punk who fatally challenged JAMES DEAN to a "chickie run" in REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE has died in Hollywood at age 75.

Allen, was the last  surviving actor of the classic youth in rebellion post-war, drama outlasting stars James Dean, NATALIE WOOD, SAL MINEO and, briefly, DENNIS HOPPER.

Allen played the gangleader in a leather jacket who had the hots for Natalie and dueled with Dean switchblades ablaze at Griffith Observatory before plunging off a cliff at the conclusion of their grudge chicken run race.

Tiring of acting, Allen turned to directing in 1969 and netted an Emmy for an ep of Hill Street Blues.

Working primarily in TV he shot more than 80 TV eps including The Rockford Files and Murder, She Wrote, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Mannix and Hawaii Five-0 — PLUS 30 made-for -TV movies.

He also directed the feature film The Erotic Adventures of Pinocchio – "his nose wasn’t the only thing that grew",  adverts read.
